How Do I Measure A Window For Drapery?
Decide where you want to install the rod or pole, (generally 4 to 8 inches above
the window frame) and measure the length to the floor. Drapery panels should
just touch the floor or come up about 1⁄4 of an inch above the floor or
carpet. If you prefer a puddle affect increase the length by 8 to 10 inches.
One width of fabric at 54” inches will stack 16 to 20 inches; therefore
allow the proper amount of widths to properly cover the desired finished width.
Also, allow at least 3 to 4 inches to the right and left side of the window
to install your hardware.
